Music and design are the twin pillars of my creative world. I celebrate this passion by annually crafting a collection of album covers dedicated to my favorite releases; they’re my version of visual symphonies that capture the essence of each artist’s statement. Each year I experiment with different design aesthetics/approaches, pushing the boundaries of my creative practice. My goal is to introduce listeners to new musical horizons, while showcasing the power of design to enhance the auditory experience.
This year, I embraced a “less is more” philosophy, creating album-inspired designs that balance nostalgia and novelty. Drawing from the playful charm of mid-century children’s toys and the timeless aesthetic of Penguin Books covers, I crafted visuals that echo the messy yet pristine duality I admire in music. Intentional misalignments and rough edges give these pieces a tactile, imperfect warmth, while incorporating the actual album art adds a fresh layer of context. This year’s entry is a celebration of simplicity, character, and the beauty found in the in-between.
